We rightly divide the Bible, seeking to understand those doctrines which are for us today, separating out those things which God does not have in operation during this current dispensation of grace. This does not mean that we ignore any of the Bible, for all of God's word instructional and "is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Tim 3:16). We do however realize that God has given commandments in the past, and will in the future, that at the present time do not apply to us (see Paul in Col 2:16-17 for instance).
At the Masterbuilder Grace Assembly, we believe it is more important to be spiritually equipped for the work of the ministry that God has called all His saints to, than to spend our time together being entertained by singers, bands and comedians.
The Apostle Paul gave his life to the edifying of others, readying them to go and evangelize, saving souls for Christ. The leader of a church assembly should be of the same mind as Paul's. "¶For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;"
Colossians 1:9
Not once does Paul, or Peter, or John, James or the Lord Himself ever pray that the people would be entertained so that they would return next Sunday.
There's nothing wrong with enjoying what you do, or the people you are with, and we love each other here at the Masterbuilder Grace Assembly, and enjoy learning about the word of God, because it has real results in our every-
day lives.
If the "high" you get from the entertainment church you now attend only lasts until you leave the front door, maybe it's time to to get the "high" that lasts all week. We'll be here when you show up.
